A first for an Indian lady academic

Gita Gopinath becomes the first Indian lady to become a full professor at Harvard's Economics department, ET reports:

Before joining Harvard in 2005, she was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

Prior to that she completed her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.

Born in Calcutta, Gopinath has studied at the University of Delhi.

It might be technically inaccurate to call her an Indian lady if she is now a US citizen.

Are you sure that's accurate? She got tenure - i.e. most likely she went from Assistant to Associate Prof not full professor .......

Check her resume, she went from assistant to associate in 2009. So now she must have become a full prof.

I think it is a matter of proud for India. She has brought a very good name to India
